The holidays are behind us now. Back to school went well for everyone. A new cycle begins and the reflexes slowly begin to emerge in this new house.
Cléo spent ten this summer. And the tallest has never been so close to her sixteenth birthday. She has her own floor here. Which means a little more independence. It seems that is something she enjoys. Evolution.
The last article on this newspaper dates back to the beginning of August. The vacation and the little project I just completed took a lot of my time.
In May of this year, I spent some time in a derelict place in a town not far from mine. I was able to enter one of the last unrenovated buildings of a former industrial site.
I'm not particularly drawn to Urbex. But I am also not closed in my practice and this was an opportunity for me to try something different. It was a bit of luck during a lunch break that I discovered this place.
After a few tries with 35mm and 50mm, I decided to only use the 50mm focal length to photograph the interior of this large industrial building. The interior of the site allowed me to take enough distance without the distortion of the wide angle bothering me.

Les vacances sont derrière nous maintenant. La rentrée s’est bien passée pour tout le monde. Un nouveau cycle démarre et les réflexes commencent à naître doucement dans cette nouvelle maison.
Cléo a passé la dizaine cet été. Ça y est, le deuxième chiffre est là. La plus grande n’a jamais été aussi proche de ses seize ans. Elle a son étage à elle ici. Ce qui veut dire un peu plus d’indépendance. Il semblerait que ce soit quelque chose qu’elle apprécie. Evolution.
Le dernier article sur ce journal remonte au début du moins d’août. Les vacances et le petit projet que je viens de terminer m’ont pris pas mal de temps.
Au mois de mai de cette année, j’ai passé un moment dans un endroit désaffecté d’une ville pas très loin de la mienne. J’ai pu entrer dans un des derniers bâtiments non rénové d’un ancien site industriel.
Je ne suis pas spécialement attiré par l’Urbex. Mais je ne suis pas non plus fermé dans ma pratique et c’était l’occasion pour moi d’essayer autre chose. C’est un peu par hasard lors d’une pause déjeuner que j’ai découvert cet endroit.
Après quelques essais avec le 35mm et le 50mm, j’ai décidé de n’utiliser que la focale de 50mm pour photographier l’intérieur de ce grand bâtiment industriel. L’intérieur du site me permettait de prendre assez de recul sans que la déformation du grand angle ne me gêne.
